Because the FBI background checks are taking months to be returned from the FBI, the Kentucky Real Estate Commission has another temporary/alternate process a potential licensee (without a record) could use. The Administrative Office of the Courts (AOC) is capable of running a statewide electronically initiated background check that only takes a few days to complete. This is not a replacement for the FBI background check, it merely allows someone the opportunity to get licensed while waiting for the FBI check to arrive.
