For agents already licensed in another state and applying for "license recognition" in Kentucky (also referred to as reciprocity), you only need to take the state law portion of the exam. The outline can be found here. You will take the test for whichever license you currently hold. Agents who hold a broker's license in another state, will take the Kentucky Broker Law Exam. Agents that do not currently have a broker's license will take the KY License Recognition Salesperson Exam.
The main different between the salesperson law exam and the broker law exam is that the broker exam contains one additional category of questions called Broker Management. That means broker candidates will need to answer questions concerning day to day operations including escrow issues, management styles, financial issues, and policy and procedures manual type questions.
We have one cram course to prepare both sales associates and broker candidate with an extra section at the end for broker's covering these specific topics. If you'd like more information about our cram course that's available 24/7 click here.
